Steam and Salt operates two wood-fired Scandinavian-style sauna cabins — 'Iso' (up to 12 people) and 'Pikku' (up to 8) — on the lower promenade at Longsands Beach, Tynemouth, with panoramic sea views through large windows. Sessions run for one hour and are booked by the seat, with cold showers available nearby for contrast cooling between rounds. The saunas open Tuesday to Sunday year-round, with evening and themed sessions such as Silent Sundays and women-only slots available from spring.
